I tried several rice beans too, and while growth was vigorous, the vines only began blooming just before frost. One bush variety - which I really wanted to succeed - never even budded.:(
.

I REALLY shouldn't do this (given how little I eked out) but I pulled some of the red rice beans I've got out last night for you, if you want them. These are MY rice beans, from my own plants (as opposed to what I have distributed before, which simply came from the same bags as I got my stuff from) so it is basically vetted to flower by around August here in southern New York (6a/6b).

If you are in too much of a hurry to wait for mine, or need amounts more than the handful I can spare (rice beans are really a field crop, so one should ideally plant them en masse ) the brand I am currently dipping from, and the only one that (based on my rather arbitrary method of guessing which is right versus wrong type) is Merry Group Ld. of Hong Kong.

You can also use your time sketching your garden and planning where you are going to plant what. When I do that it usually lasts until I start putting seeds or plants in the ground but it can be fun to daydream.
I just told a friend I so need to do this. I need to start seeds this weekend and feel like I'm so far behind in planning!

So when I met with the people at my new allotment garden I got a welcoming package with magazines from the association, what rules apply for members AND a seed catalog! :barnie
I even opened it! :th

I'm not gonna order there, but it sparked something in me and now I'm looking online at seeds.... https://www.belevenissen-van-een-tuinkabouter.com/apps/webstore/products
It's a great one too, It's a lady who sells small packages for only 35 cents. So you can get a lot of different ones for a small amount. She's got everything from veggies, flowers, herbs, trees. I just don't need anything now, no time to plant all those seeds this year.:he
HELP ME!

border, ID/WA(!)
Pen and Paper, Jen.

Multiple ones beside easy chair, bed, on kitchen table, in bathroom ...

That name is almost "Thinkabouter" in English. That's the most important use for seed catalogs for the next few weeks.

Hope this helps!

people may think i'm lazy, i just like to think i'm 50% efficient.

Tuinkabouter actually means garden gnome, but thinkabouter is a smart one!

@flowerbug No good freezer yet, but we're getting a new one for the new house later this year.

Well there's no need to fret. You are just going to have to order a few at that price. Plus just think, you are helping to support someone's livelyhood. ;)
