I'm already disappointed in the loss of light, the shorter the days the more I feel like dragging to bed earlier! :p

It went from sunrise 5:00am Sunset: 9:34pm 6/21

down to sunrise 5:40am sunset 8:55pm 6/22

By October I'll be in bed at 9pm! LOL
Dear V,

19:34pm = 7:34pm

18:55pm = 6:55pm

You aren't allowed to live in North Carolina and have more summer daylight that us miserable shadow creatures farther north ;).

This time of year has always filled me with an odd melancholy, like when you know a loved one will be leaving soon and you don't want to say goodbye. :(

There is the regret of not having filled the days with more work and more fun and more relaxing in the garden and evenings around the firepit watching the stars and camping and walking up the middle of Pack river and having friends over and projects not finished...
...sigh...

Winter does have it's advantages though.... hang on... I've almost thought of one....
Yes, I know that feeling

Arose very early this morning and fell back asleep in the Lazy-boy . . .

Maybe I'm a lark thru the middle of the growing season. Right now, I'm evolving.

By spring, I will be a hummingbird and slowly evolve into a lark again, bursting upward into the sky at earliest light! But in the early season, I'll probably need a little early morning time to contemplate the flowers:

of course, none of this recent behavior has anything to do with age

Thank you, Carol Dee!

And Mary . . . I forgot to link music to the image until I read your kind words. I have fixed that now . . . by the person who played the piano for, what became, a famous recording.

You can click the hummingbird and turn on your speakers ;)!

Another 3 hours of daylight lost . . .

(I wonder what someone in Calgary at 51 North or Fairbanks at 64 North think of someone at 48 North saying in the 1st post that he lives in the "far north?" ;))

How are you feeling?

Well I'm feeling about ready to hibernate. I must be part chicken because it's hard to get out of bed when it's still dark out.
At least we had a beautiful mostly sunny day today. I'm always a little more productive when the sun shines :coolsun .

I can't believe it is 7am! It's dark outside!

There's some overcast this morning so the predawn sky isn't lightening up properly :coolsun . . .

That chart you can find on the 1st page is a little easier to understand now because we are back to Standard Time. We now have the earliest sunset of the year but will lose another 15 minutes for the sunrise here over the next couple of weeks.

:hit

Steve
okay, we will lose another minute here on the sunset too! i'm trying to be a little optimistic ya know!
