I"m Whooped!

I'm glad I haven't went overboard on the ingredient thing yet, as I am partial to instant mashed potatoes!!!

THANX RICH

Instant mashed potatoes!?!

I'm lucky that DW goes a little way in humoring me. Of course, I wish she would tolerate a little more freshly ground black pepper ;).

Not only can I mix some cream cheese into the spuds while beating but they were cooked with celery root :). That Maggi sauce and Mrs. Dash in the milk gravy and the mashed potatoes and gravy comes alive!

I think the slice of pumpkin pie I had for breakfast is having an affect on me

I have never known the use of celery root. So is it just that? The root of celery? Or some exotic other plant?

instant mashed potatoes!?!

I suppose Idahoans ...

How could they do that to them?

Steve :(
Celeriac, @catjac

It is mild, Cat'. Starchy.

I used the store-bought celery stalks in the stuffing and when making broth.

The celeriac might go into the soup but it only adds a little more flavor than potatoes. In "mashed potatoes," I can put in about 30% celery root without really changing it much.

Well, I simmered that turkey carcass all day yesterday, and really had a lot of meat and broth. So what did I do? I woke up this morning at 6 am, and instantly remembered that I hadn't put the pot in the fridge last night. So all that turkey and broth sat out on the counter all night. :barnie I can't believe I did that. No way I would chance saving/serving it after all that time. Rats! There were several meals there.

Okay, with a covered pot ..

. I have turned the heat off and gone to bed.

The next day, I have put the pot of whatever in the fridge or put the contents in freezer bags and the freezer.

very sad

Well, Steve, you are still alive, so I guess it worked for you! I knew if I saved it, though, that it would sit in the freezer till the cows came home, and it would not be used.
Nyboy, I have accidentally left groceries in the car both in steaming heat, and freezing cold. We all have too much on our minds now days. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
