Annette, I thought Vancouver Island's climate got the benefits of the warm air currents coming up the Pacific coast? Is that another baseless rumor they told us in school?

No @so lucky you heard right, but there are years when the winters are harsh, some years we're still cutting the lawn well into December, like Christmas Day.We can even grow some varieties of palms and bananas. About 30 miles south of us and a very short ferry trip (20 minutes) over to Salt Spring Island it is even balmy-er :). Take a gander at this, I've been to his place...

@baymule weather service I follow is predicting a colder than normal winter/spring (thanks to the Canadians sending us their cold) and a warmer than normal summer (thanks to southerners sending us their heat). But we are of hardy stock-blending of two extreme populations-so we can take it...... :p;):frow

When it drops below freezing tonight the forecast says we won't get above freezing until next Wednesday. Then when it does it maxes out in the low to mid 30's for a couple of days, still a little nippy. A few mornings the lows are supposed to be in the low single digits Fahrenheit. For us, that is cold but we've had colder. As long as the wind is not bad it's not a big deal. I don't like a cold wind but some wind is forecast. From what I've seen I do not expect any accumulation, white or clear, through that time period.

I think the next several days will be a good time to can another batch of vegetable soup and some chicken broth. That should keep the kitchen nice and cozy.

Mongo likes cake......

No one eats Kale unless it is hidden or covered by sauce or used for goat feed.... just green cardboard that the “elite” convinced you that it was good.

Geez Mongo, are you still griping about kale?

I do agree with you on the sharing of weather though. Bad weather is a private thing and should not be passed around. It should be consumed and used up at home. Like kale.
You wouldn't pass your toothbrush around would you?

Good weather on the other hand should be shared. Like a box of cookies :).

Well, gee whiz, @seedcorn looks like THAT weather has boomeranged right back on me. It's snowing, and snowing and... here:hit:hit:hit. I guess we aren't going to miss winter here this year after all :hit:hit:hit.

Annette, from what has been called the banana belt.
