Here schools are zoned and parents have to live in a good zone to get their kids in the better schools.

How funny that we have the same saying, word for word. Just goes to show you, we are the same. No matter what our governments say or do, we the people, are the same. :love

Well, I need to tell you that I feel very lucky to have received some of my education in university towns.

The professors send their kids to those schools. There seems to be a never ending line of volunteers from the education departments to assist in the classes. Emphasis is placed on academics.

Universities are often in out of the way places. Some folks had the very good idea of getting the young adults away from some of the distractions of the currently modern world.

I don't feel the need to recite some of the words of my song in the Loan Sharks thread. Put it down as some of that "toxic masculinity" I was talking about not too long ago. He's trying! Out of despair ... he's still making bad, uncivilized choices.

Steve ;)

@baymule Governments almost always alone. On the Russian forum of gardeners, I can see how people communicate in the two countries, which are waging war against each other right now. They wish each other peace. Perhaps not all people are so peaceful, of course. (Only the most intelligent ;) :)).

@digitS' You have a good speech and a good style. This is evident even to me.
What is "toxic masculinity"? The denial of the nature of men?

Here Rye Harrison school taxes are insane, but excellent public schools. The funny thing is the super wealthy who are paying 80,000 to 100,000 a year in taxes would never send their kids to public school. All go to private school:lol::lol::lol:

The denial of the nature of men?

I think so, @Larisa .

I've just come across the term. It is sometimes used against men but that isn't the origin, as I understand it. There was this realization amongst men beginning about 30 years ago. So many boys were growing up in households where the father was absent. The thought was that men should express some values of responsibility to help guide these boys (& themselves) stunted in their development.

I think I used the term talking on TEG about "mannerisms" where women noted how many times and which sex were likely to bump into them when they failed to step aside for people on a sidewalk. Or, I made reference to toxic masculinity when I lamented the malfunctioning of my hearing aids amidst all the noisy vehicles on our streets! Assertive much?

Please. Women have a civilizing effect for men and all of us. Exercise it. There is no benefit to society for much of the rude and crude behavior exhibited by men and boys. "Boys will be boys." ..? At some point in their lives, they need to grow up.

If you need to find rude woman go to Bloomingdales next sale !!! I have seen fist fights over a sweater.
Women can be down right brutal at times too. All one needs to do is go to any grocery store that advertises a deep loss leader and when the supply is nearly exhausted, just watch the ladies go into a verbal and / or physical mode. Yes, I have seen a verbal then a physical hair pulling altercation over the last of a small bunch of bannanas. Have you witnessed high school girls go into a down and dirty verbal and physical match in a school hallway when one girl confronts another over a "stolen " boyfriend ? :smack

"Men make up the majority of prisoners in the United States, approximately ten times as many as women in 2013" - Wikipedia

I'll take those odds.
