last night we received another 1/2", now dont get me wrong the field peas in the cover crop mix really needed it to sprout they floated to the top with all that rain so till that i see that they have had a good chance will water them everyday.... i wanted to mow today.....poo but the ground goes squish squish. as the song in annie goes ... tomorrow tomorrow.......
yes @ducks4you have read that in many places. late august will mow and till it under, then plant a winter mix cover crop from urban farmer.

yes we are looking forward to an outstanding output in 2018, hoping that a year without crops that some of the pests go somewhere else. plus it gives me a whole year to really work on the other beds<redesigning/rebuilding them>.mainly a better way to water the raised beds efficiently for a deep watering,with the minimal amount of standing out in the blistering summer heat since they do dry more quickly than the rest. have some ideas just need to research more options and see which would work best for here. for the main garden thats a no brainier...soaker hoses.

need to kill the unwanted weeds between the rows...
last years pea bed.. planted them about a month ago....
last fall had a handful of crimson clover seed left over throw it out in the driveway ditch..
dw told me not to mow that area till further notice...
not bad photos for a iphone , still not as good as the nikon.
speaking of rain heres some totals..

total since installing it back in august...
