stay alert for mildew and be prepared with a remedy ;)
Thanks for the tip. What is your remedy?

I will have time this weekend to post more pics.

My remedy for mildew is to cut the delphiniums and lupins to the ground, rip the zucchini out of the ground, and

. . . hope no one notices it anywhere else!

Maybe a sulfur spray . . . or if conditions are on the low pH side of things, sodium bicarbonate or potassium bicarbonate. Neem seemed to work on the roses and that surprised me! And, it did seem to hold the mildew at bay somewhat on the rosemary . . .

After a week of grinding at other people's gardens I realize I am in the weeds. They are everywhere. I was thinking of having a Tea & Weed. Asking the volunteers that have signed up for the tour as my help to come over to help weed with a little tea party. Would this be out of line?

To top it all off the well went dry this weekend and there is no rain in sight. As soon as town hall opens I will have the town water hooked up. Thing are starting to droop. The good thing is I will have more than enough water until Oct 18. We never use our allotted amount.

Today, I will be home, in the garden and my phone off. Parties are over, lawns are mowed so now it is MY time. I hope to post pics this evening.

I do not think that would be out of line at all. If they do not want to help so be it, then they will just miss out on the fun and tea with the other volunteers. Go for it. :weight

The garden club out here that hosts the annual garden tour does just that, ( I don't know if they provide goodies ;) ) the volunteers pitch in to help do last minute tidy ups to the tour gardens. I would surely ask, everyone wants the tour to be successful and having the gardens at their best is how that happens. I'm sure yours will be beautiful!

No photos yet. I am diligently working on the weeds. In between I have to harvest. Tomorrow I work all day but Wed. I hope to get the weeding finished and then photos. :D

Nope, no one else has chickens.

August 17, 2011.

I have already thought about what to plant and where. Now I need to try and snag some more seeds on the seed train. Knowing me though nothing is set in stone till planted.
Plenty of time!

She's got this thing in a lead pipe cinch.
