So that's where all our hummers went!
Here and my Sister's (She has had them visiting for years.) We have Ruby Throats. That was a female at the feeder.

Charming, charming pictures!

Humming birds must be in a taxonomical class somewhere between birds, insects, and Tinkerbell :).

. . . even the black widow, charming . . . but some of those spiders & that wasp are rather horrid looking. Still, they are NOT plant-chewing/juice-sucking garden enemies!

I had two females at my feeder this year- but I never saw a male... I hope he was out there, somewhere. Such wonderful pics!

Same here, early on we had a few Rufous males and a Calliope, but later in the season it was just the girls. And not many of them.
I think the cold start to the season must have had a lot to do with it.

I go down every year during the mass migration. (to take pics) They stock up at my fathers feeding "complex" he is serious about his hummers! They show up there by the hundreds literally before they start the migration south. It is almost time to go back down again and get more pics.

I figuered that was why I have so many fighting over my three feeders this week. Fueling up. Silly birds would have more fuel if they fought less!
