NO, NO!!! SAY IT AIN'T SO, JOE!!
Actually, I don't drink coffee after 10:00 AM anymore. I used to drink it all day, but then it started to taste bitter later in the day.
I actually had a big glass of orange juice on Sunday for lunch. Got some good energy from that, too.

Don't drink coffee after 7 PM. Now dark chocolate can wire me. Love D chocolate. Don't like missing sleep though for it.

I adore coffee, used to work as a barista in college and drank it all day long. My husband laughs at me every time I mention that I need to give it up.

I am having a lot of indigestion from it too though. I drank instant for awhile and it didn't upset my stomach for some reason.

DH bought me a Keurig for Christmas under the assumption that if I could make just a single cup, I'd drink just a single cup a day. But the coffee is so good I'm back up to 3 a day! I've tried cutting back to 2, but feel deprived, lol. I don't have much appetite when I first wake up and coffee is my breakfast. I know that's got to be bad for both the stomach and the metabolism.

Chocolate tears my stomach up too. I think I've probably had my fair share of both for a lifetime. Both are incredibly difficult to give up. A psychological addiction, firing the pleasure centers in my brain I suppose.

I didn't order the Teeccino, after all.

 Instead, I decided to go with something from my childhood :). It probably wasn't this brand but Mom drank Postum, which I didn't care for, and a something made with dry figs. I liked that!

The flavor of figs, goes with coffee :)! Try them together, sometime. This is my third sampling since it arrived Thursday, now that I'm 4 hours into Sunday ... nearly all of it spent in the Lazyboy ;). My first impression has been one of sweetness.

It isn't an instant. I put the roasted, ground figs in a teaball, so it's about the same as the Folgers decaf in bags. Steep the teaball in about 1/4 cup of boiling water, remove the teaball, stir in 1/3 teaspoon of Kava caffeinated, fill cup with soymilk, nuke.

You will notice on the bag of Coffig that it should make ummm, 142 cups. That's with a 1/2 teaspoon per. I go for 1/3rd t. Surprising how strongly flavored it is but if reducing caffeine is my goal, I'd be a little disappointed flavorwise with less than an equal amount of Kava. Or, using more Coffig ... I'm up against what @thistlebloom refers to with the substitution away from coffee.

What I forgot to do is grind some beans this morning. I can use this in a regular coffee maker! The richer flavor of the 100% Columbian beans might overcome the slightly fruity aftertaste. Still, the flavor and fragrance go with coffee.

Steve :)

So is the Coffig intended as a stand alone beverage, or is it for blending with coffee?
Did you have to order it?

I love Sundays relaxed pace too, which means I usually treat myself to an extra cup of coffee while I sit here at the bar (kitchen bar, not the Past Time bar ;)) seeing what all of you gardeners are up to.

Not even close. I do drive by it often enough to know the name. It's something of a local joke among those of us who joke about such things.
They must have some kind of anti-gravity system that keeps that swaybacked roof from completely collapsing.

It's supposed to be stand-alone, @thistlebloom .

I'm not using it that way after trying a sip like that. It reminded me of a strongly flavored dessert! Probably something I'd enjoy more at age 9.

No, I'm still not really quitting coffee.

I do not drink coffee after I have had my 1 or 2 in the morning. These are coffee mugs, so really 1 is 1/2 cups. When I went to the hospital Saturday night, my last food at home was around 3 pm when I had some watermelon. I did not get any food until 10 am the next morning with orders of heart healthy diet and no caffeine. I about fainted. I guess the heart healthy was because they were doing heart testing on me and I had a monitor and the caffeine might have messed the test up, but I was thinking they were telling me after I went home NO CAFFEINE. I had my breakfast and really I felt fine. This morning at home, DH had made coffee and I had 1 mug and seem happy with that. I am not going to quit and I have not decided how I feel about all this. My heart was fine.
