No, I haven't made a pie. Sure, the other morning, I was the guy who finished those day-old donuts DW bought. I'll restrain myself and not get into that carrot cake this morning.

No, I'm talking about something that should be a fairly healthful start to breakfast ... peel and core a nice, freshly harvested apple. Chop and microwave for 60 seconds. Add a small handful of raisins. Microwave another 30sec. Stir, another 30sec in the microwave. Let is sit a minute, splash on some milk.

There are my 3 servings of fruit :). I'll count the large Honeycrisp as double a single serving, "small apple."

Think I will have the carrot cake with a big mug of oolong, later today.

:) Steve

I try not to but I have been known to occasionally have pie for breakfast along with my cup of jasmine pearl tea. This morning I didn't want eggs and toast for breakfast but as I opened the freezer to pull the bread out, I briefly thought about having coffee flavored ice-cream! Restrained myself and decided to have it for my afternoon snack instead. :)

Dessert for breakfast is awesome! But only healthy desserts like pumpkin pie (all that vitamin A!), carrot cake works too, (more A) and occasionally ice cream, like Espresso Madness (calcium). :p

Oh, I guess your Honeycrisp qualifies too Steve.

Oh, NyBoy ...

Okay, here's how you can fix the Lucky Charms:

Get a couple of nice ripe fruits. Bananas, peaches, several strawberries, blackberries still in season? Nice big handful !

Put half the fruit in a small bowl. Sprinkle a little kid's cereal over it. Put the other fruit on top.

Say to yourself, "I need this fruit to keep the cereal in the bowl when I pour in the milk." Pour in the milk ...

I have seen someone doing that on teevee.

Still haven't figured it out.

Pretty!

I don't limit myself to labels like breakfast, lunch or supper types of food. ;)I pretty much eat what I'm in the mood for at any given time. That could mean homemade salsa and tortillas first thing in the morning or eggs or cereal for supper. I've even made popcorn as my evening meal..and that's it. Just popcorn.

Now that I'm old and living back in the sticks full time again, I can do pretty much what I like without thoughts of the usual rituals imposed upon us over time.

I rather enjoy that kind of freedom. :D It's the little things that make a life worth livin'.
