Still haven't had Captain Crunch -- or any of those small round cereals. Always looked too much like rabbit poo in my imagination to want a taste. Not that I haven't eaten some pretty awful sugary cereal, but nothing that could be frosted bunny pellets.

Fruits tend to be about 10% sugar. But, it's a mix of sugars and some complexity.

I have to get a handle on veggie serving sizes soon. The 3 servings of fruit with breakfast and now the 3 vegetable servings before anything else goes on my lunch and dinner plate!

I need to find some painless way to eat healthy and keep the winter weight off. Depriving is Depressing. More! Is the answer. More good food.

The change in seasons and activities is upon me and I feel it. It is not a time to be slouching towards neglect and ruin!

Cherry pie. Cherry pie for breakfast, lunch, supper, snack, midnight munchies or anytime. I have never had home made cherry pie, only store bought frozen-heat-em-up. Store bought might be terrible stuff, but I don't know any better......

@baymule go buy some cherries. Make a pie. Once you do, you will never eat a cheap cherry pie again. There are some good store pies out there, I'm sure.

Cherry pies here are made from canned cherry pie filling. I could plant a cherry tree....... what variety for pie cherries?

Steve, I'm surprised you don't juice or use one of those nutribullets. As many greens as you grow, you would have a ready supply. One big gulp and you're done...all your veggie servings for the day! :)

One of my dad's relatives used to have a cherry farm in southern WVa., grew and hybridized his own trees I've been told. My grandmother would regularly bring him tart cherries from this relative, packaged and frozen. I've made some killer cherry pies in my lifetime back when those were available. You really can't beat the real deal, although canned cherry pie filling will do if that's all you have. I really couldn't turn down a cherry pie of any sort.

@digitS' - I struggle to eat enough vegetables, although I love fruit. There is always a vegetable serving as part of my lunch and dinner, but I rarely hit more than two servings a day, so I admire your effort!

My advice for maintaining weight that involves more, not less, is eat nuts! Google "nut consumption and body weight". Nuts are good for you, especially almonds, walnuts, pistachios. It makes me hungry just thinking about them. I am nuts for nuts! :)

Mmmm...oatmeal..the almost whole grains, with plump juicy raisins, or some diced fresh apple. Homemade rice pudding. Quiche, spinach, mushroom, onions, ham or bacon, and some swiss cheese. Long cooking cereals like Cream of wheat, Malt-o-meal. Pies...pumpkin, custard, fruit, some topped with half & half. A fresh baked real oatmeal cookie with some milk.
I also like real homemade tapioca pudding...when there is some left over....hahaha...nope...leftover NEVER happens around here :drool :plbb
Or...steamed jasmine rice....topped with real butter, some honey and some half & half.
