Loving Local Theater

Sorry about that, Nyboy. With local theater you takes what you gets. Often the plays are excellent and well done. Sometimes there are glitches and/or last minute cast changes that show in a poor performance. As a former Mother Abbess in the Sound of Music, I know how much work goes on for even a less than stellar showing.

On the other hand, I'd love to find a great Mexican restaurant. I love that food while DH won't even try something mild. It is Mexican. He's a meat and potatoes kind of guy. He wins!

I have had to find reasons to go shopping with my grand-daughter so we can seek out new eating places. So far she loves Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, German, Swiss, Czech, and Irish. As for me, one doesn't often get to look like I do without a love of good food.

Will not stop me from going back to see other plays there. Great that you and your grand-daughter spend the time to go out and eat together. My grand mom and I had a wed night standing dinner date, every wed night after work i would pick her up. it was our special time together.

I saw Pippin at the Walton Art Center last Wednesday night. It was put on by an off-Broadway touring group. The actors are all Actors' Equity and real professional. Some were really good. The plot wasn't great but it's mostly an acrobatic show.

The grandmother was played by Adrienne Barbeau. Some people might remember her as Maude's daughter on the TV show. She's also been in several movies. She is 70 years old. Part of her role was to strip down to a "wonder woman" outfit and perform acrobatics on a stationary trapeze bar. Let's just say she did not look 70 nor did she perform acrobatics as if she were 70. She was fabulous.

I remember her from the old TV show Maude. Good to hear at 70 she is still preforming .
