Morning Guys,
Where is Chickflick? Geesh.....she gets this going & then she's no where in site. :/ Today looks like another nice day. I was outside all day yesterday, trimmed my Sedums down & ornamental grass. Boy does that stuff get dense.
I have a slight problem. Yesterday I noticed that a bunny is starting to take up residency in my rock/flower bed out front. Nice little nest started & hidden under a wagon. I'm gonna have to destroy the nest, fill it in and place a rock in the spot....didn't look like anything was living in there yet. Few years ago they built a nest, dug from some spot around the edges of the rocks. While I was transplanting and digging I was freaked out because I dug up something unknown. Ran & showed my DH to try & figure out what it was....a bunny. :( I must of had killed it the day before when I sprayed weed preventar around the perimeter.

Chickflick's last post on the whole site was on 08/10/2009 8:24 pm. I don't think she comes around here anymore. However, she is still posting on BYC. I've put several invites on the Michigan thread as y'all probably know. (And thank you so much for coming!) But I guess it's hard for most people to do too many things on line with all the other stuff they already do. The internet stuff is pretty much my entertainment (DH and I don't really GO anywhere) and during the day I only see a couple of neighbors, the ones immediately adjacent to my property, so I have to bug people I've never met for my social interaction. :/ I wonder if that makes me weird?

Blue sky today too, already 47. Every time I check the forecast the temps seem to go up, next weekend was going to be in the 50s now it's the low 60s. One night in the 30s predicted but that's it. Hope this isn't the start of one of those bad SyFy tv movies where the sun is going to explode or something. :duc

AH bunnies. With 2 dogs, they aren't taking up residence in my yard!

Good Morning.....Yes another nice day in the northwoods :) I have lots of wild bunnies running around here, drives my two Jacks Russells crazy. They are kept inside most of the time though. But when they spot one out the patio window, WATCH OUT :barnie If you are weird Swampducks consider me weird too. When you live out in the middle of nowhere the internet IS YOUR social life. Going to spend most of the day outside I think today. Trying to soak all this up before Mother Nature remembers this is only March and not the beginning of June :rainbow-sun

We really need to get Raz and green thumbers over here from BYC. Fuzzbutt has pretty green thumb I believe. Did you see that bean stalk she had growing in her living room? The internet does take up & can be addicting but I hop on and hop off....frequently when I get the chance.

Bunnies don't last long around my place neither. I just don't want to have be picking them up all over the place or nursing them till they are able to be set free like I've done in the past. My kids love them & the dog thinks they are a fun toy but I'm the one doing all the caring.

Well it's outside I go....to nice to be in.

That's where I am now. I dragged my lounge chair out of the garage and am sitting on the deck in the shade, pups laying nearby, guineas free ranging, while I sip lemonade and wonder if this is all a dream. But I see my pond is still frozen though there are pot holes and a huge crack in it. There is even a small mound of snow at the edge of the driveway where the plow left it. I think it will be gone in another day or two. There is a bit of a breeze, I may have to pull the chair all the way around the corner, it's chilly making me feel like it's 68 rather than the 75 on the thermometer.

I have dug a little more in the veggie garden but it's hot work. I'd like to clean out the coop, I usually do it in April but I it's too hot! I guess I'll wait till Friday when it's only going to be 63. Assuming they don't raise the temperature forecast again!

Heck, the pussy willows are blooming! :th

Good morning! :happy_flower

Not only are the pussy willows blooming but the poples and tag alders are going to seed, got those long catkin things hanging down. They weren't like that the day before,,, fast!

I planted 24 feet of snow peas. Today I am taking the day off from digging and planting. It's supposed to be 86 today and 90 tomorrow. :th

So today I am going to pull my car out of the garage and clean up/reorganize my gardening shelves. Maybe I'll find some missing sprinklers and other stuff, like the sprinkler end to my watering can.

And I have tomato sprouts. I should germinate on my dining room table more often!

Incidentally, it's still winter until 1:32 pm EDT! 3 hours to go!

?????? I need to move my rhubarb plants. They are just now coming threw the ground. They are in the path of one of the walls for the new chicken coop. He's gunna be starting it soon. Would you think it would be alright to move them now? Any suggestions?

I don't see why it would hurt, they are pretty resilient. I've divided and moved them in full leaf, I would think near dormant would be better.

My crocuses are flowering! :woot

I'm sure it will be fine. Just be sure to give it some water while it's this hot and not raining. Not even noon and it's almost 80.

They changed the Saturday forecast for around here instead of 50 50, however, they claim 3 nights in a row of 36. That's way too close to freezing for me, my rose bushes are starting to leaf out. Since I live in a low land it's liable to get frosty here so I'm going to have to bag as much as I can just in case.

:/
