GTFO!!

they have purple bell peppers!?
OMG must have for next season...

Next year I wanna try to make the veggie garden a little more ornamental. i think a mixed variety of bell peppers would be a good way to start. My green ones are doing well this year, and bell peppers are expensive here, as the locals prefer what they call a "cooking pepper" its an elongated sweet pepper, that just doesn't compare, but because its more affordable here people are accustomed to them.
Purple, brown, white...every color but blue. Supposedly there are mentions of blue somewhere, but no one has ever been able to produce one. I'm doing the chocolate brown, purple and orange this year.

it was a reference to john Wayne Gayce, the serial killer. He did fund raising for the Democratic Party and hosted block parties in his neighborhood, where he'd dress as a clown, there is even a picture of him with then first lady Rosalyn Carter. The photo was taken only months before he was arrested, tried and convicted of his crimes. It was egg on the face of The Secret Service for sure.

And to explain that explanation, I read about serial killers now and then because it makes for interesting read. Aside from the obvious horror and terror of it all, its excellent American folklore. Especially when you get to reading about men like Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole, who traveled the American south and south west killing people for decades before they were captured. Then when they were finally brought to justice, admitted to hundreds of unsolved murders, though most of the confessions never led to prosecution because they were caught lying when detectives started fabricating case files in order to gauge the reliability of their confessions. Sure enough both men admitted to committing phony crimes. they also told all many of crazy stories about satanic murder cults, and mexican child porn. Its as good as non fiction can be.

Not to mention Ed Gein, the inspiration for just about every horror movie serial killer from Norman Bates to Leather Face to Buffalo Bill. For over 40 years the horrors of his crimes have inspired American horror cinema.

I imagine though that its not reading for the faint of heart, or those easily disturbed.

I just saw a picture of a lilac bell pepper. thats neat that they have managed to breed them to different hues like that.

My honeydew climbed the garden fence one year & I did not support the melons & they were just fine. Last year one of my cantaloupes climbed up & thru a tomato cage & the melons were fine without support just hanging there. Now watermelons since they are so big I think I would support them.
I have been told that the stems grow thicker to adjust for the weight and that makes sense to me.
Makes sense to me too. Thanks. My honeydew & cantaloupe will grow toward the fence again this yr so they will have a trellis again.

Yeah it wouldn't make sense for God to make a vine that wants to climb and punish it for growing up by snatching the fruit off of it prematurely.
Makes sense to me too.
