Mouse effing with my acorns?

Mice chew just to keep their teeth down to a useable length. They've been known to start fires by chewing wires. Here in this attic you can see that a mouse shelled an Acorn. ... Since Mice often do bring Acorns all the way into an attic, they may not need your food, just your shelter.

So I had recently planted aome red oak, pin oak and buckeye seeds in my seedling closet and I recently found two of my red oaks and one of my pin oaks with their sprout tips laying on the top of the dirt. In two of the cases I couldn't even find the acorn and in the other it was on top of the soil. Nothing happened to my buckeyes or other acorns, so it's odd for it to be three. Thoughts? Wondering if a mouse got up there and messed with stuff and decided it wasnt for him/her. Reminds me of a squirrel

Cant you put traps, or a gate? I know there will be some things you can do to get rid or avoid those rodents from getting to your a corns.

Oh we put traps out, but mice are finicky and don't go after all traps or they get smart and figure out how to trigger a trap without getting caught, then they get all the peanut butter

That sounds really problematic. Mice were really an issue here in my room. I think they are here in my closet.

I have to start corn in peat pots and transplant to keep crows from pulling them up as they sprout, in order to eat the corn kernel. Crows!

We used to have that problem. We read to take fishing line and put it on the corn bed in random patterns. The birds hit their wings and take off. It worked. I don't know why we no longer have trouble with the birds.
