The first time you have enough to give away a dozen, it's like being a fairy godmother, bestowing treasures on your loved ones. Oh........It's not that way for everyone? lol
It is a really good feeling, tho.

On another note, I got a full dozen eggs finally!!!! I have 4 white eggs and 8 brown eggs. There are two brown layers now Nutmeg and Goldilox, the white egg layer is Miss Prissy :D but we figured that one out.
Let's clarify that some. You finally have managed to accumulate a dozen eggs. I have been eating them 3-4 at a time for a week or more :D Expect the stockpile to drop when I get back home ;)

Well I have at least 5 chickens/pullets/hens laying eggs now. Yesterday I found 3 in the nest boxes, and one out in the run. It was kind of obvious who laid the one in the run. :D She was covered in mud :D

It's just like magic isn't it? You give them food, water, shelter and 'POOF' suddenly there are eggs laying around.

Dew, do your's come to you looking for attention? Mostly mine are just looking for treats but now and then one seems to really just want attention. Yesterday I was trimming honeysuckle out of their shade tree (bush), I heard wings and suddenly there was a chicken on my back. I scooped her onto my arm and stood there for a little while telling her what a good and lovely girl she was and how there wasn't another chicken in the whole coop like her and how special her eggs were going to be once she starts laying. She just sat there blinking and cooing. I finally had to put her down and get back to work cause it was just too hot to spend much time talking to spoiled chickens.

:love chickens
