That's a fantastic price too! My MIL used to collect wrought iron pieces. She has some really neat ones. My favorite (which I hope she wills to me!) are 3 sections of furnace registers that are 20"x30" done in floral scrollwork. She hasn't really used them for anything other than to top one outdoor table of the same size. The other two are just leaning against the barn. I have several ideas of what I would do with them! She also has several pieces fence similar to yours, but not as fancy, that came off of the widow's walk on an old house. She hasn't installed it either. So I suppose you can get to a point where you have too much wrought iron then.
Is that your poor, overworked nephew in the pic? LOL
Journey widows walks are so cool !! yep lucky nephew knows how to wield . I told him the pointy tips would help keep zombies out !! To much walking dead TV.
Oh man, that's a great find at a great price Nyboy...and, it looks great as a front fence. I have a few wrought iron fence sections and gates. I use them as accent pieces in stone walls I have built and in gardens. I like using other pieces in gardens like wrought iron, unusually shaped rocks and boulders, and statues. Really adds interest as your fence will add a lot of interest to your property. It's a beauty!
Yes, it is. That is the view to the right as you come in my driveway. There was an old barn foundation there...set back only 6 feet off the road. We wanted to rebuild the barn, but could not get a variance from the township since the foundation had no building for years. They would not grandfather in a new building that close to the road. We would have to set it back 30 feet from the road.
So, I built that stone wall along the driveway and back across to the barn foundation near the road to make a courtyard. Planted wisteria across the top opening of the barn. What you can't see is the road side and the 50+ year old northern pine in the far corner of the courtyard opposite the statue. The pine branches create a roof over half the courtyard.Great place to sit in the late afternoon.
I wish I had better pics of it.
In this one, if you look to the extreme left, you can just see the beginning of a wrought iron fence section I added in that back wall, that I mentioned earlier in this thread.
