ok so i trimmed again

they are all 3 growing nicely again but we will see if only one blooms.if they do it again,i will try to cut down the 2 smaller ones.
do i cut it down all the way to the root or just keep it short?
To get rid of the rootstock offshoots, you will need to brush the dirt away from the base so you can see the rootstock. It may already be above the ground. It will look like a knot, or a gnarled branch. I think it is supposed to be slightly above ground level, to discourage "upstarts." Then cut off the plants that are coming out below the grafted area. They may break off pretty easily. Or use a clean sharp shovel or pruning shears. Those are not a desireable plant like your beautiful Peace rose is. That stock was used to give the plant a sturdy foundation, so to speak, then the Peace rose branches were grafted onto it. If you can tell for sure which branch your beautiful flower is coming out of, protect it. It will hopefully branch out near the graft, giving you more than one sturdy branch of good rose. Then these will branch out further.
As you have discovered, roses are pretty hardy, but I am amazed that a hybrid has lasted that long, if it was left to its own devices for all those years.
