@Nyboy I can't remember how many years he's been working on this truck, only buying parts as he could afford them. It's his baby, when he went on his road trip he visited guys who he actually got parts from. It took him many years to get it where it is today. Only in the winter is it stored away, the rest of the year this is what he drives. The big guns come out in the winter I'm not into cars and trucks, I don't even drive, all I can tell you his winter vehicle I need a boost or steps to get into it.

I loved doing auto mechanics. I was a born and raised city girl....Macy's, high heels, etc.....then, I went to Indiana to stay with the inlaws one winter. FIL was an Army-air Corp motor pool Sargent...retired. Or something. He had me outside learning and helping him. We overhauled a semi-International Cab over....AND the flat bed trailer.
Then, moved on to restoring a 47' Chevy pick up truck. For his son. Then....we worked on switching out an engine in the car that was for my husband and myself. 71' Plymouth wagon. 383 cu in engine. I didn't even learn how to drive till 4 years later..:th

Lets see, what else. He tried to teach me welding...but I couldn't handle the heat. All that time...MIL was teaching me how to cook. Good ol' Ozark MO country food, and the Kentucky vittles that FIL loved. when I got to their house, I knew NOTHING. Left with lots of skills. :thumbsup

Oh yeah......we worked on a motorcycle. We also did body work and paint, on the old truck. Re-packed all of the wheel bearings in the flatbed trailer. (I did), in January, in Indiana. brrrrr

@moxies_chickienuggets you were blessed early in life to be exposed to such wisdom and self sufficiency. What a wonderful start in life.

@Nyboy I debated with myself before I posted that site. I know how you love old trucks and cars. Maybe you could find one already restored, cheaper than going through the process yourself. About 4 or 5 years ago, that site had Jimmy Cagney's Rolls Royce for sale for $60,000

@aftermidnight , nice truck he has there, my 58 F100 still on back burner for now. Maybe I will have time to work on it next winter.
@Nyboy, trust me you better off with only one project at s time. I always have to many extra things I am working on and all projects suffer from it. Plus in summer time I don’t really have any spare time to work on projects.

Annette, that is a nice truck and I don't even know anything about trucks!, haha.

We have a '91 F-100 and when I occasionally have to drive it, guys are always telling "nice truck". First time it happened, I asked my husband if it was a nice truck cause guys were telling me so. He said yep, haha
