There was a FIVE eighteen wheeler truck pile up on Interstate 20 this morning, not far from us. They didn't have the excuse of snow or ice.

Hunker down everyone. Stay safe on the roads and walk ways. So far snow has n=been minimal here. Just too DARN COLD. Buses are running o.k. so far, as grounds crew and mechanics have come in early and started buses for us. :) Nice to get there to a warm and thawed out bus. I will be taking them muffins in the morning as it is forecast to be -13 again overnight and they will be there at 5 a.m. to get us up and running. :)

Carol, those men will be so appreciative of muffins! It is so nice of you to think of them and let them know it. Nothing says Thank You like a bunch of muffins on a below zero day!

We had a crazy storm. It rained-snowed rained snowed, now it is bitter cold with zero on tap for tomorrow. So not too much accumulation. We lost power yesterday for 3 hours but it was not too wide scale an outage. My poor daughter and her husband were working from home with 3 boys out of school. It was too bad out to go and get them. After much looking at cute dog pictures my daughter got a rescue mutt pup. So the boys waited by the window for hours for it's arrival. A neighbor got their pup's brother and weathered the storm to pick them up. They were fighting for days about who was going to get to pick up the dog poop. Yes....who was going to GET to pick hit up. Hahahahahahaha

Well, I feel left out ... not about following around after the dog but from watching tv this morning and such, I'm happy not to be in the path of this storm or in the frozen country between here and there!

I also feel left out of the other remarkable events shared in this morning news.

We will have a real weather mix locally, if the NWS is right. This may be a repeat of last weekend. I will appreciate being left out of those people trying to get around those days. This may be a repeat of last year when the winter weather was warm but plenty of snow fell in the mountains.

Cat' , it's great to see your updates and that your family and home life are happily getting through the difficulties. When the world outside our doors turns chaotic, there are others elsewhere who can, at least, lean back and express a "Whoa, Nelly!"

Take it easy out there! Puppies and homemade muffins will help!

Steve
