One Alaskans greenhouse

Im not going to wait till March to get the Tomato’s going; i’m gonna plant them today!
Yesterday a number of things were moved into 5” pots so everything’s good for a bit. My Asparagus “forrest” is looking good and it looks like i’ll be adding 50ish to the bed! A 10/20 of Parsley and Celery are up and looking good.
I’m done taking cuttings off the Mint plant and will find someone who’d like that Mother plant, the self heal is all coming along; it’s nice to have the one big plant for fresh tea. It and the half dozen starts will go into they’re own bed here in a bit. How long is a bit? Well, i just predicted on the “poll” that March would come in like a lion AND go out like a lion; hope i loose!

Will the asparagus be in the greenhouse or outdoors?

@catjac1975, these will be used as fillers in an existing bed. The Strain “3 pound can” came from the SSE. They have an interesting history.

@Cosmo spring garden, it’s been 10 below several evenings, currently it’s 10 above and snowing. Here i am walking back to the house with a tray of tomato’s; in the snow
It’s been nice to start a few things though!

Yes it is and before long i’ll be out there in the mornings eating a fruit cup and basking in the 80 degree‘s it generates as the Sun pushes back the cold!

Our greenhouses are in the same shape Alasgun. I shovelled almost 4 feet of snow to get in there a few weeks ago. We've had about 250 cm of snow fall this year, 90 fell in Jan. alone. Can't wait until it's gone!

I'm curious, what is the blowtorch for?

Did you have to use it to defrost the greenhouse door to open it?

@digitS' ,yes it was just a little too solid and a good bump didn’t phase it but plan “b” always works though.

Artichokes, Rosemary, Stevia, Self Heal and Peppers are what i call “long starts” and i’ve been nursing this group from right after the first of the year. There’s a tray of mint starts in there as well which are voracious this year; so much so that im cutting them back and will just dry it like i would later in the year.
Up above these i’ve got 4 10/20’s of Asparagus, Celery, Parsley and Tomato’s.
Next week is a big week for starts which will include Cabbage, Cukes, Broccoli, Kale, and several Pole/Bush beans. Each week following has it’s group of starts too and this continues until Mid April when i can move it all out to the greenhouse, and beyond!
It’s here and I’m loving it!

This group will move over the the “White House” with more room and bigger lights next week, to make room for the new stuff.
