... my wife has photographic memory. She remembers even credit card numbers, health card membership numbers, prescription names and numbers, name , rank, and serial number, peoples' names. location names etc. etc. etc.. But she hardly ever uses it to recall any of my mistakes, which I don't make any just as Red's husband doesn't make any mistakes. :)

OK, now let's try to think of famous assertive lines made by women leaders through the years...........
(thinking, thinking......)
"There's something about an Aqua Velva man"
"Why don't you come up and see me sometime?"
"Diamonds are a girl's best friend"
"Blondes have more fun"
...........dang it! Where are all the strong assertive women? Oh yeah,

"The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity." Dorothy Parker

"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art." Eleanor Roosevelt

"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people." Eleanor Roosevelt

(one of my favorites) "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Eleanor Roosevelt

" I am who I choose to be. I always have been what I choose. . . though not always what I pleased." Lois (McMaster) Bujold

Searching for quotes from famous (not infamous) women is a tough challenge, Steve.

Sublime is the dominion of the mind over the body, that for a time, can make flesh and nerve impregnable, and string the sinews like steel, so that the weak become so mighty. ~ Harriet Beecher Stowe

For some reason I completely forgot about Eleanor R and Maya A when I was trying to think of powerful women. Thanks for reminding me.

“You think because he doesn't love you that you are worthless. You think that because he doesn't want you anymore that he is right -- that his judgement and opinion of you are correct. If he throws you out, then you are garbage. You think he belongs to you because you want to belong to him. Don't. It's a bad word, 'belong.' Especially when you put it with somebody you love. Love shouldn't be like that. Did you ever see the way the clouds love a mountain? They circle all around it; sometimes you can't even see the mountain for the clouds. But you know what? You go up top and what do you see? His head. The clouds never cover the head. His head pokes through, beacuse the clouds let him; they don't wrap him up. They let him keep his head up high, free, with nothing to hide him or bind him. You can't own a human being. You can't lose what you don't own. Suppose you did own him. Could you really love somebody who was absolutely nobody without you? You really want somebody like that? Somebody who falls apart when you walk out the door? You don't, do you? And neither does he. You're turning over your whole life to him. Your whole life, girl. And if it means so little to you that you can just give it away, hand it to him, then why should it mean any more to him? He can't value you more than you value yourself.”

I actually got to meet Toni Morrison once. She was visiting her daughter in law when I went to pick up my daughter. Her granddaughter and my daughter were friends in elementary school. Her daughter in law in one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
