Our daughter owned a 7 1/2 lb. Chihuahua that was micro chiped by her Vet.and within a couple days the area was infected .
Treated with antibiotics,then about 6 months later that microchip was incapsulated and it grew to be a quarter the size of the top of the dog's neck and had to be surgerically removed. The vet. had the nerve to charge our daughter $700 for the surgery. She paid it in 12 installements and got a new Vet.

That is very usual I used to micro chip my puppies myself. Everything is sterile, vet must of had a very dirty hospital.
