ordered my seeds just now from baker creek! i'm so excited!!!
i was going to order from a different site but the are not taking more orders until march. so i ordered from baker creek. they have some things the other site didnt have (amaranth, quinoa) but there are quite a few herbs that i will have to wait for because baker creek doesnt have them. so here is what i ordered:

ha ha! i have lots of questions on the quinoa and amaranth!
so does it have the same care needs basically as corn?
any tips or suggestions for these two will be welcome!

i'm so excitied!!!
i also have tons of indian corn and pumpkin seed to grow with the beans. and zucchini seed. been starting at my garden plan and trying to make more stuff fit. ha ha! i already have most of the garden. i hope dad knows i'm using half of the corn area too...

I've had mine for some time now and actually have a couple hundred plants under the grow lights as I type this.
Probably won't get much planted in the ground until April or so, except potatos which go in on St. Pattys Day.

i dont have enough window space
i have two of those little plastic window starters.
thats all the window space i have room for
i'm gonna have to move my sisters globe collection.
plants take priority over dusty globes...
so i need three more window things

Stupid question.. I've bought mostly Burpee seeds in the past and most of them germinate just fine but some don't (perhaps 10% germinate -- don't recall what off the top of my head).. Any particular reason so many of you like Baker Creek for Seeds? Just curious.. Thx!

i've noticed that happens too when i used to try any Burpee seeds. probably since most of what they have is hybrids and now owned by the big 'M' and are mostly GMO!

i've always found the cheap seeds-American Seed, had the best germination rate compared to most seeds i bought at $1-$3 per pack! this will be my first year ordering from Baker's Creek. i've bought from Johnny's directly and locally since a local greenhouse carries them. also High Mowing Seeds and Harts.

Hmm.. Haven't heard anything about Burpee and GMO or Monsanto before (see link below for their rebuttal) but haven't tried tons of other seed companies either -- perhaps a change would be good..
