Southern Gardener, my mother was born in Shreveport, but raised in Weslaco, Tx. My great grandparents lived in Monroe, I had aunts in Tallulah and shirt-tail cousins all over Louisiana. I loved going to Louisiana to visit! I live in southeast Texas, sometimes it feels like Louisiana! Funny you should say northwest Louisiana feels like Texas!

At any rate, neither of us will get snow like Marshall does, unless we go sit in the freezer!

I have an aunt and cousins in Monroe - and really, sometime I do feel like we are a part of Texas!

LOL! The stink bugs are out in force - I've killed two that were in the house! I do wish we'd have some weather like Marshall for a few weeks!

NwMtGardener - we do say "yes ma'am, and no ma'am - I think every southerner was brought up to say that - it is a sign of respect and politeness. :)

I found out real quick when i lived in montana, if you say yes mayamm to any woman up there, they seem to think you're calling her a bordello madame or something!

and if you act chivalrous with a woman in montana, helping to lift a tree that weighs a ton for instance, she'll tell ya to get out of her way.

btw Heather, I happen to know another Heather in Montana. :p

A couple years ago, I was at a Fresno State Bulldogs vs. Boise State Bronkos, ( a friend and I set off fireworks during the Anthem and everytime the Bulldogs scored) ... nice shirtsleeve autumn day ... one of the female fans from Idaho was wearing blue jeane short shorts and a "T" shirt with the outline of the State of Idaho and the words with spaces... " I DA HO ". :ep

Hey!!

I don't suppose that this would be a good place to tell a little of the story of Molly B'Damn? Be kind of fun to let you know what her neighbor Wyatt Earp was up to after that gun play down in Dodge at the OK Corral.

And, then there was that jerk Guggenheim and the real mess he left in Idaho!
