Alas, I am down to getting only one egg a day. I fear I gave my four best layers to son's mother-in-law this Thanksgiving. She's getting eggs:(
I had to add a night light for my hens. I would be embarrassed to say how many hens I have and how many eggs I am getting. My young girls should be laying but they are holding out on starting. I do keep them until they die so I'm sure there are a few free loaders.

I had already had lights on a timer set to 15 hours of daylight for them, but last week I took the timer out to check the lights and haven't set it back up so they have 24 hours right now. As long as we're in the deep freeze weather-wise, I intend to keep the lights on for what little heat they can offer.
