THAT money goes for movies...wine...chocolate...YOU know, the important stuff.
Good wine that is a VERY important stuff! One of these years I'm going to start home brewing hasn't happened yet but one of these years.....seems like I say that a lot lately one of these years I need another project like I need a hole in the head but it never hurts to dream.

Wellp, today did NOT turn out as planned.

I did get the one part together, but did not attach it.

I went to take the garbage to the dumpster in my car, but the solenoid acted up.

So, I walked over the hill through the forest, through the chapparrall up on top, down the hill, back up the hill...ya see by walking it is longer than a mile... and got there.

Attached some chicken wire, then we drove to town in the old flatbed. I wanted to get more 1X2, but man! It was all warped and twistewd like pretzels, hardly exagerrating. But I got a few odds n ends of other things anyway.

Tomorrow I work on finishing the prototype with that bad wood.

We have deemed this weekend as a commitment free weekend. Meaning no commitments for us for anything other than the farm! THAT...very rarely happens. But this weekend we are going to, in order:

1.) Build one more raised bed.

Built 2 more raised beds!

2.) Bring some of the dirt from the 3 beds above it down to the new one.

Done!

3.) Take last years composted manure pile and bring it over to gardens.

Done! With some left over for something else.

4.) Fill up raised beds to appropriate levels.

Done!

5.) PLANT GARDEN! Whoo Hoo!

NOT Done...Used wisdom instead of going with my fleshly desires. I KNOW that is still possible for us to have a frost. So...going against my "wants", I will wait 2 more weeks.

6.) Move winters manure pile to new location to compost for next year.

NOT Done. :duc:( Old and only peice of farm equipment died and is now parked appropriately where the truck and trailer can back in and take it to the scrap heap! :th:

7.) Get barrel and build appropriate pig waterer.

Done! And it took the pigs all of about 30 seconds to figure it out. They are so smart!

8.) Hang farm sign on barn.

Done! Should have said farm plaque as it is not what I really think of as a sign. But my hubby made it for me, so I think its awesome!

9.) Hang plant hanger on barn (that I got for Christmas).

Done! Ready for a plant now!

And ...if we get all that done, we still have a suitable pig house to build and get housing ready for the 25 meaties and 15 turkeys that will be here in 2 weeks!

I think I can...I think I can...I think I can...
All in all...a successful weekend other than the broken tractor. And all is well on the farm!

I have a few blooms on my thistles even though they are young new plants. Looks like I'll actually get 2 little Boysenberries this year!

digits and thistlebloom, Thank you! Like everyone elses farm I suppose, it is a work in progress. Someday all that dirt and rocks you see will be pasture. No really...I believe it can happen!

marshall, nice job with the boysenberries!
