Sorry can't find the link BUT I saw a program where they interviewed a nursery that sells 3 to 6' tree/bushes, sets of 4, sold to be a living fence. They ship it in a cardboard box.That is brilliant!!
But Do they deteriorate before the potatoes are ready?
UNDERGROUND the cardboard takes 60 days to break down. Above ground it takes much longer. I dropped a cardboard box last fall in the bed where I had a bad potato harvest. It is above ground.
Box is still there.
