you being in the arctic this winter cold air and warm air makes condensation.....do you have a storm door on the outside of the main door.?

for laughs would call who installed it ask why.....

in your 2nd photo.. is that water on the top of the frame? and is that a water stain below that?

and your 4th photo.. the crack is that plaster or plastic..?

No storm door to pretty to cover up . Yes thats water on top of door. The molding right above door plastic molding above that wood. water seems all around glass insert. Glass locks tight to door with 2 balls that screw tight on one side other side is hinge. The glass is some kind of unbreakable glass ( that means it will get broken at my house for sure)

Murphy you might be right. i had the pipes freeze then burst so keep the heat on higher side.

I say condensation also, our metal storm door is cover with condensation all winter. We just wipe it off once in awhile.

I am thinking that your Inside door needs more insulation. Perhaps heat is escaping though the inside door and water is condensing on the inside of your Outside door. One of the easiest solutions is this:

Regarding dehumidifiers, DD's bought me a really good one last year for my basement. I kept the other (cheaper) one and sometimes they both run at the same time. Most of the time the hose empties the water into the shower next to it, but sometimes I have to manually empty both of them. I water my winter inside plants with the water, and just dump the water into the shower during warm weather. They both keep my basement pretty much bone dry. Without one, I can get condensation on the water and boiler pipes during the summer when it is really humid, which we get.
