NyBoy,

You have taken a step beyond cellphone service and have feet in both that world and in the internet.

In fact, you may be able to communicate with your television, car, microwave and refrigerator.

to answer your question about running the cell from wi-fi, yes you can. i have Republic Wireless & the phones are set to run with wi-fi as much as possible. though i have to be logged onto the wi-fi network if i'm away from my home area. it will connect & hand over the call when i get out of range to the nearest cell service. i only have it set to connect to cell data when i want it to. i keep mine set to update only when connected to wi-fi.

if you are a data hog & always checking facebook or other social media this probably isn't the best cell company. i chose it because i don't need to feel connected 24/7 everywhere i go. i can make calls & texts as long as there is either cell or wi-fi & this is unlimited. the only thing i would have to pay is if i go over .5gb of data trying to connect to the internet without being on wi-fi. as long as i don't go over the .5gb the most i pay is $19/mo. if i don't touch the data i get a rebate & have paid $12.25/mo.

make sure if you are going to allow others to use the wi-fi that you have a guest login & password. or keep it restricted to certain people who can have access.
