People like to say that they learn from their mistakes. I think that they learn from trying. They learn success by being successful. It may only be success in a limited environment, or a limited success - they have to stay flexible.

Another thing that we hear is that there are many ways to do something right. Sure - at least, several ways. But! There is a multitude of ways to get things wrong.

Now, there is a caveat. Well, not really a warning, but ... discoveries are sometimes made by seriously misunderstanding what we think we know. Yeah! Off on a tangent -- there it is! Something NEW.

Steve, I believe a lot of wonderful discoveries were made "accidentally" and a lot of good lessons were definitely learned by making mistakes!
