My neighbors see them as weeds too. I see them as one of the earliest pollen sources for my native bees. We respectfully disagree.

The henbit is well over my ankles right now but it's covered in bees so I just can't make myself get the mower out yet for that first cutting.

I kill them in yard. Farmers kill them in fields but they are free to grow elsewhere and in some people’s yards. I’m good with that.

they don't get very tall nor do they take up much space... as far as weeds go i'd say they're pretty harmless, but that's just me.

the other positive, those roots can break a nice hole down through compacted soils.
