I did have an ulterior motive for building this design. Back yard chickens are big around here and I was hoping to have this be our rough draft and then sell a couple more. My buyer fell through this morning. Well maybe when it's done I'll take some pictures and post it on craigs list.

Hey Beavis, are you planning on fencing in your garden room with wire or plastic netting? What do you have to keep out living in Ramona?

That worked for my husband. When he was unemployed I listed a picture of our chicken coop and he got many responses from people who wanted him to build them a coop. He ended up building 2, both over $1000 each. Just shows how popular chickens are getting!

That one is gorgeous, you should get a LOT of interest. Just don't short yourself on the price, its worth whatever you want for it!!!

I've decide to go with 1" chicken wire for the perimeter, probably bird netting on the roof eventually.

Basically keeping out our dog and chickens, but also the occasional rabbit, crows and mockingbirds.

So have you gotten any further today?

We're on our 3rd day of cold and rain.... haven't gotten to start digging up the beds for the front yard yet. That's the next project when the fence goes up in the back. I still need to create a 'gate' for the veggie garden.

Well we hit 70F today, darn it if work didn't get in the way of progress...

Spent about an hour stapling chicken wire to the bottom half is where I got to today.

Today, I installed the chicken wire on the upper portion of the structure, and finished putting fencing on the gate and then getting it attached to the structure.

It's looking better than I thought it would.

Next up, I need to hook up the drip irrigation, put bird netting on the top, secure a few low areas where varmints can still gain access and finish the second raised bed.

Then, I am contemplating adding pea gravel all around the interior sans the raised beds.
