All week I have been looking for my camera. I had been wanting a new camera, so I guess now is the time. Looking for a simple to use, that takes good close ups, do not need a lot of bells and whistles I will not use. I would like to keep it under $200. What camera do you use ? What do you like or dislike about your camera ?

I have a Nikon Coolpix that's a few years old. It's what all my pictures are taken with since I still have a dumbphone.

It has different picture settings you can select with a touchscreen, or just go basic and let the camera figure it out. It has a decent macro closeup function. Very simple.
I like how handy it is, fits very easily into a jacket or pants pocket, works good in the cold until it gets really cold, then I just stick it in an inside pocket where it gets more body heat.

I recently dropped it and now the lens has a little trouble closing all the way, so I just goose it a little to help it along. :)

I think it's a good little camera for the $80 or so that it cost me.

Nikon cool picks the great photos outdoors-indoors are not very good with low light.I just got a Nikon 7200.. I need it to take my daylily pictures. My old one no longer auto focused and the old eyes needed this feature. I use my old lenses so I just got the body. I went up to this pricey model because it has more focusing points than the cheaper model.A giant splurge.

I still use my little Sony Cyber-shot, now and then. The Droid phone takes a picture that is just as good ... altho' I have trouble with the zoom. Sony stopped making that one but, other than that I couldn't turn off the flash in low-light, it was awfully easy for snapshots.

DW is happy with her Nikon Coolpix. Just looking at Amazon and I think it is the $120 model. I only use it when she wants me to take a picture of -- her ;).

She has a problem with using it as a video camera. For some reason it records images in 2 different formats :hu. Yeah, we don't really know why or when that will happen ... I guess it is then a problem with our cheap dvd player that I can't copy some of them onto a disc and show those on the teevee. I tried converting to a different format once but still ... the dang dvd payer didn't like it! If I gotta spend an 8 hour day figuring out what is going wrong .... there'd better be some carrot cake in it for me!

Okay Carol Dee, yours might be older...
Mines a more modern "slide" phone with a qwerty keyboard. I got tired of texting my kids with the alpha-numeric keyboard.
But it's still old!

Text? Who texts? Not me... not if I do not have too! Thankfully neither son does much of it either. A phone call will do.
