...Weellll, I've just covered a mile here in the house! Sixty laps of 88 feet each = 5,280! Hey. I was so pleased to learn that I had that 88' "track!"

The ticker only hit 96/minute about 3/4 of the way thru so I've gotta incorporate more of those prancercise moves but I may have found the combo for the winter couch potato!

I think I'll treat myself to another cup of Tikuanyin!

I suggested a trip to Madison to visit a museum as a way to keep the guy from working outside in the excessive heat. Spouse liked the idea and wanted to go. The day started rather cool and breezy so I intended to skip the trip, but he happily told son what we had planned -- go figure, this he remembered.

So off the the capital we went. About halfway there he started complaining about the long drive (45 minutes). Then he didn't want to walk from the closest parking space I could find. He wasn't interested in sitting for a rest or looking at the exhibits. He wanted to go home.

It didn't help that I got turned around trying to get out of town, but finally I recognized a street sign and we were on our way home. By this time he wasn't in the best of moods so even though he wanted to stop at a familiar restaurant for lunch, he complained about the place, the waitress, the food. Come on, how does one mess up a grilled cheese sandwich? He insisted the food he received wasn't a grilled cheese. I offered my BLT, but he started on his sandwich, grumbling all the while.

I had suggested a light lunch because Fridays we usually go out for fish fry. We had no sooner gotten home then he came in telling me it was time for supper. It was a mere 1 hour after lunch. I said we would wait until five to go eat. Every 5 minutes he would return telling me it was finally time to leave until he got angry with me and went outside.

NO! Way too hot to be out! I found him swinging away with his weed-wacker on one of my sunny perennial beds. Okay, so the "bed" is barely recognizable as a flower area, but he knew there were flowers when he started and knew the bright orange, yellow, and purple things on the lawn were weed-wacked remnants of my plants.

I brought the big, sweaty lug inside where a cooling shower and change of clothes managed to pass enough time that we could leave for supper. A meal out with the Grands -- Friday sleepover -- was enjoyable for us all. He was in bed by 7:15 telling me it had been a real good day. Precious baby!

Did get one.

He's moving pretty slow. It means a long, slow walk through the rain if we can't park close. I can't imagine in the icy wintertime with a long walk to the store. I can't drop him off and expect him to be waiting when I park and get to him so, yes, a handicap parking pass was close to top of the list.

They really help my mother had one that hung off rear view mirror, that was great, if my sister or I drove her somewhere in our car, we could take it. My father has special plates,so If I use my car can't use handicap space.

I still have a placard in my glove box from the last time my mom got it renewed, and it has been two years since she died. Of course I don't use it; it wasn't for me. Probably expired by now.
