You are doing great and staying so positive :):

I want to add something about productive work but don't quite know how to fit it in! Searching? Creating? Living? It's there!

I've dropped 8# since April Fool's Day.

It isn't much but based almost entirely on activity. I think also hot weather weakens my appetite. It's okay and a balance to the early weeks of the season when everything tasted like "More!"

Steve, isn't it your goal to lose 10 lbs. because that is what you gain during the winter? Forgive me if I'm wrong. But if you do that, you are maintaining your weight! Which is a lot better than seeing it go up each year. :)

FYI, fruits contain a lot of carbs. Yes, they are good carbs but too much of a good thing is well not that good. ;) I love cantaloupe, watermelon, papaya, and mangos. I was eating quite a few servings of them but have now cut back. Yes, I miss them. :(

Good going, Steve! No fooling, that is a good thing.

Feeling good about 'productive work' is something I see as missing from the attitudes of a lot of people these days. It's either "I have to go to work" or "Why work?" Of course, many don't see doing what they enjoy as work even when it is productive.

You are forgiven, @ninnymary ;). I think it's been only once in recent winters when I kept the weight gain that low.

Weight loss has been that low ... gain 15# thru the winter and lose 10# thru the summer :\. I did that thru several years and it isn't justified behavior!

You, Spouse, and the cats all seem to lose their winter weight once nice weather arrives. Getting out and being able to do something again has always worked for Spouse and this year is no exception. However, this year became a big weight gain winter for him.

He's back down into his size 34 pants and looking slim and trim. The next size bigger size slacks were 35-36 and they looked baggy and dumpy on him. We need to find something to keep Spouse physically active over the winter or I'll be on Xanax come spring of 2017.
