Severe Weather?

It passed mostly north of us around 10pm or so last night (wondered how Monty was faring up his way...) I saw some pics of tornado damage in NW Ohio. We had another pass around 5am this morning, lots of lightning and the wind picked up for a bit, but only minor damage to little things in the yard and garden. My peas are flattened and some of my flowers. It helped thin my fruit trees for me though. :P We had about 3 and a quarter inches of rain since 5am this morning. The garden looked like a lake! I didn't have any tiny seeds recently planted...so nothing to wash away. I think the beans should still be there, since they are planted a little deeper. I hope.... The county north of us has power out and one city just north of us is shut down by the state police. Powerlines across the road coming in from the south and severe flooding has blocked off the town and they have no power either. We got lucky here, being just south of it all.

Yep, nothing like last year's storm! That one was so weird, how it came up out of nowhere, with no warning.

ETA: I have a new box of bees I need to go check on, but I haven't been able to open them up lately, what with having a thunderstorm just about every other day. They are always cranky the day following a storm.

Nothing severe around here but I finally turned the house furnace back on this morning . . .

Stehekin, a little community on Lake Chelan Washington, had a record cool high Wednesday afternoon: 58f. This is actually in the area where the warmest-in-the-contiguous-states records were about a month ago. There are fires only about 50 miles away but the cool temperatures must really be welcome for that battle.

It doesn't seem so unusual to me. Many years, I have this little debate over turning on the heat about the 1st of July. I want to tell you, this is very frustrating when cool temperatures run that late but frustrating is a long way from severe.

All we ended up with was a bit of wind that lasted several hours. Weather people over exaggerate things far too much. =/

YES we got the storm(s) today. Rained on and off. Some VERY heavy. Near constant warnings for flash flooding. There may have been a tornadoo emdedded in one deluge just SW of use. We lucked out. No downed limbs, no basement flooding, no power outage. We only got 2 inches and 6 miles south they got over 4 in 2 hours. CRAZY.

Calling for storms to hit at 9 tonite. 60-80 mph winds coming. We'll see.

Severe storms just ran through here about an hour and a half ago. Seems some boyscouts got hurt while out camping. Last night's storms hit a few locals too, one was in his own house. They are predicting thunder storms all week straight into next tuesday here. Probably just to cover themselves on the weather forecast.

Journey, we didnt get any storms last night. Monty said it rained in Wheeling today long enough to make it miserable.

I was actually in Charleston that week, Journey. Dew said we got hammered pretty good at home though.
