Was that duck canvas that you used, Dahlia?

Did you know that duct tape was actually made from duck canvas. There was broad application and it was known by that name. Material became varied as time went on. So, there's some history for the next time that you have someone try to correct you for calling it duck tape instead of duct :).

... i'll, uh, show myself out ...
I wrote that earlier post late at night, so I said canvas covers for various boat covers, but I really meant Sunbrella fabric covers. (Good for outdoor use) Thanks for the history tidbit! 🙂

Back to projects...
Dark blue bed sheets for the full sized bed needed marking. I had been careful putting them on--I change our sheets every 2 weeks, more or less--so I marked the two on the shorter side.
I had a spool of red thread, old, not enough for any one project and red is easy to see, so I hand stitched to mark before I removed them to wash.
I have a smaller pin cushion and I was using one of my brand new fisker scissors. Youngest DD, who used to work at JoAnne's fabrics bought it for me a few years ago on a sale bc I really like shiny copper!
For those who don't sew, sewers are SUPER PICKY about any of their scissors! They are made ONLY to cut fabric, or thread or the specialty paper that sewing patterns are printed on.
IF you cut regular paper or anything else with them you will make them dull fast.
All purpose scissors are best bought at a place like Harbor Freight.
So...don't be messing with MY sewing scissors!!! :rant
Therefore, you only need to run them along next to a knot when you hand sew in order to cut the thread tails.
The fresh sheets are now on my bed, and I made sure to put them on with the correct corners. In a few weeks I will hand sew these corners, as well.
I also am storing the pin cushion, needle and this red partial spool in a 1/2 pint canner jar with a solid lid on my dresser. I am not being fussy to say that dropping a needle in a carpet could be very serious! If you step on a needle and it makes it's way into your blood stream, it could be a trip to the ER!! So, I am cautious. Pictures below...
