Some great positive news. Your Granddaughter may have a future in medicine. What a sweetheart. Hugs to all.
Sounds like she will be well very soon. These experiences in early life sometimes set a child on a heroic path. Yay.Good morning one and all ...I would like to thank all of you for your well wishes and support , my friends here. Yes, Red, my wife is at that OHSU teaching hospital on top of the mountain, with a narrow 2 lane , twisting cut back and "S" curves with a guard rail for a steep drop off and permanent SNOW signs. It is a HUGE facility with quite a few buildings. I finally found out WHY they built it there ... the land was free. But why any sane person would build a hospital there is beyond conprehention due to difficulty for even an ambulance to get there not to mention the EXTRA cost for excavation and foundation stabilization then building the multistory structures that does not meet current earthquake standards. What a time to spend our 47th Anniversary at this resort ! Just a short update on my wife: She was sedated and slept through the night. In the morning the doctors removed her trachea tube and started cutting back on her pain medication. By noon she started to talk with a very raspy voice. She is starting to feel much better and falls asleep for 5 to 15 min. at a time. At 3 :00 pm our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter came to visit. Granddaugher ( my personal Doctor ) who just graduated from kindergarden had a field day talking to grandma, inspecting all of the wiring and tubes that led to monitors and at every step asking questions of the nurses . Then watching one nurse taking a blood draw, then she helped the nurse by inserting a blood glucose strip into the test machine and then informing the nurse the number that flashed on the screen. She was in 7th heaven. About an hour later they had to go to beat the traffic. At 6: 30pm., I left to go home since they gave my wife a sedative to sleep. It took me just over 2 1/2 hours to drive home as most of the trip on I 5 was at 0-5 mph untill I crossed over the Columbia River, then traffic started to increase to 50mph then slowly increased untill I reached the posted sign for 70 mph for 5 miles, then I had to take the exit to go to our small town. CRASH !!!
That is just so wrong? Where are the parents? Here visitors can come at any hour, stay any length of time. People bring toddlers to run up and down the halls and aggravate the sick/dying patients.
(Except in ICU, of course)
