Let's see your progress in getting your gardens ready!

We got most everything ready to go over this weekend. DH put in 2 of the 3 new raised beds and built me a grow table today. I am so excited and cannot wait to put my tender young seedlings in the ground soon! Here are pictures of our progress so far.

I hope to get a better shot of the raised beds in the next couple of days..Schedule is crazy hectic during the week

Yes, Some of us have already started our gardens. I went to Home Depot yesterday and they had beautiful early girls, black krim, sungold, sweet 100s and other veggies. Couldn't resist. I planted 2 tomatoes, 2 jalapenos, scarlet runner beans, peas and tomorrow I will plant some more. Of course, we have spring like weather here in the bay area.

I think I misunderstood her post and was thinking how much could there be to see this time of year.
When she said show me your gardens I was assuming she meant that she wanted to see pictures of peoples' gardens that were actually planted and underway but looking back she is just showing her making the frames and whatnot, not a garden picture.
I have my garden already situated and frames were built a couple of years ago but we don't start planting in ernest until the first week of may when its the last frost.
We can plant peas and the cool weather stuff in a couple of weeks, usually St. Patrick's day around here is pea planting day.
I wish it were planting season already.
Lupin, did you grow stuff in some of those beds all winter like coldframes?
I thought about doing coldframes this year but ended up planting some carrots, beets, turnips, rutabagas etc. and covered them with hay. I can harvest them throughout the winter.
I planted onions and shallots this year when I put the garlic in last fall and that was a first. It will be interesting to see how it works out this spring.

i'm looking at getting some IRT fabric mulch to get mine started by next month-gets the soil warm early enough to plant. along with starting some hoop house rows over some of my started plants. i have about 30 flats of seeds i just started this weekend here so i'll need to get areas ready to plant them when they are large enough and hardened off.

i got the dh to save his plastic 2 liter bottles so i could use them as cloches to put over plants too.

No :( I didn't. My wood froze to the ground sometime around January so I couldn't make the beds until this last week when everything started to thaw out LOL. I had Tomatoes in mid April last year because I put up polytunnels on the beds. I'll be able to start my peas a bit earlier than most with the polytunnels as well. The long bed that doesn't have a cover on it is one of my 2 pea beds, they're 2x10ft and I'll have peas on both sides of the trellis that goes in.

Such good help! I think that poor plant got transplanted at least a dozen times.

My new greenhouse! These were taken before I got the ends put on. Best part is, I spent less than $30!

Raised beds with garden in the background. I need to put some straw down between the beds to keep the grass down. The first row of four are the kids' gardens. They each have their own to plant what ever they want. Currently the middle row has potatoes, strawberries, and peas. Back row has broccoli and spinach, cauliflower and lettuce, and onions and lettuce.
