I celebrated by posting a silly picture and having a new kind of snack.

Dehydrated Snap Beans.

Diffurint. Not that much like the Snap Pea snacks. Rather than entirely without anything added, I think that they may have been especially good with a little red pepper.

Now, if I can stay away from the carton of ice cream DW bought . Oh No, she just offered to make cookies!

I have cookies in the freezer Steve, that keep calling my name. But I'm going to be strong and resist. I sure miss sweets and ice cream. :(

Resistance is futile! At least around here. But we try not to go overboard.
DH brings me my evening ration of chocolate - one solitary Lindor truffle.
I don't know if it actually is a truffle, it's a little 70 calorie chocolate ball that I savor and try to make last. Haven't been into the ice cream for a long while. Now where's that little angelic smiley?

@thistlebloom - Oh, those Lindor truffles are my favorite. DH always puts a bunch in my Christmas stocking, even though I beg him not to (holiday stress + good chocolate = lack of self-control.) Have you tried the new hazelnut ones yet? If you only get one a day, I'm sure you've learned by now not to make the mistake of eating them while they are too cold and the filling is hard. Just not right. Gotta be room temperature. I don't like them all melty either. It's a fine line. Since he brings them to you, I would think he must be your source of will-power...probably has to hide the bag from you. ;) I couldn't trust my DH with that job. He'd get into them too!

That's funny Journey! No he doesn't hide them and I don't like them melty either. :D
Frozen is good in the summer, then just let them melt in your mouth. :)

Hazelnut is my favorite, and I don't like the white at all.

It seems like lots of people give those truffles to teachers around Christmas time. Unfortunately, I don't like them, althought I appreciate the thought. I like my chocolate dark, especially the Lindt dark chocolate bars with sea salt or with hot pepper.... But the fact that you love the hazelnut ones made me wonder, have you ever tried Nutella?

Why yes, I have tried Nutella. It was okay but I only really like hazelnuts. Love is too strong an emotion altho I feel a good deal of affection towards the little trees ...

I intended to buy some tahini at the soopermarket, yesterday. Completely forgot!

It isn't at all common in my kitchen but then I came across this: #Creamy Broccoli Soup#

I get a bag of those Lindt truffles every Christmas from my realtor. I don't want or need the calories so I return them to Costco and get $12. I don't know if he buys them there but they take them.

Has anyone ever tried kombucha (Sp?)?
I've been looking into it for it's many health claims..

eta: Nevermind - after I posted this I did a search and found several threads about it. Looking forward to giving it a try!

This is about when I begin the weight gain each year.

I haven't weighed but if I can keep most of the weight off until the new year, I'll be home free ... or, nearly so. I feel fairly good (& slim) but I'm only a day past Thanksgiving and the fridge is crammed with food!

Responding a little while ago to the "retailers," Black Friday thread made me think of this.

Let's see. If I had not begun trying to control my weight gain about 12 years ago and I stayed with that ever-so-slight average gain each year, I'd be 60# heavier.

Yeah. That would about do it. I have trouble getting out of bed or my chair now! Imagine what 60# would do to me ...
