Gene Logsdon was always a joy for me to read in a new issue of Organic Gardening magazine. I really looked forward to learning from that guy .

I keep one old copy of the magazine beside my lazyboy chair. In the 1976 "garden planning issue," there is an article on French-intensive gardening, probably my introduction to that method. A little further in is, "How to Keep Aphids from Lousing Up Your Garden," by Gene Logsdon.

Those bricks were initially for lifting a broody cage and now become a training facility for the five hens. Today the alpha hen came at the last.
