Hi,
i will be planting a lot of peas later, (4 varieties), i chose Snowbird for the snowpeas, and for the shelling peas i have Wando, Dark Seeded Early Perfection, and Burpeeana Early.
I was just wondering it says to plant one pea per inch in a row could i plant two peas per inch instead? Or will that maybe be to close a planting, but if i do plant 2 i could chose the best seedling and snip the other off.

You could. I think some pea tendrils are edible . . . . I'd want to research that before trying them though.

I double my rows when I plant peas and space them about 2-3 inches apart. Twice the yeild as opposed to only planting a single row in a row, if that makes sense.

I'm glad I read this... I only planted my peas 6-8" apart. I guess I'm going to stick in a second and third set then!!! :)

My rows are about 2 feet apart. More would be better but I am trying to use as much as I can. It can get a little junglelike when plants are mature sometimes.

Best practice? I would say two and a half to three feet apart for the rows. But you have to make the best use of the space you have.

I give them a little something to climb (bamboo) and run it down the center of the row.

i read that for double rows, in between the two rows should be 3 to 6 inches apart, then to space 2 double rows its 2ft. apart, Is this fine? I'm going to go by this.

I read something like that about double rows... I actually did this part... I have 2 trellis rows where I can walk around them. They are only 6" apart in the rows between trellis. I can still get to them on on 2 sides. I also so something about planting them around tomato cages.

I'm just hoping for a lot of snap peas... I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE snap peas!!!

I did this but I only have room for a single row..

so I planted every 2 to 3 inches along the back fence then came out about 4 inches and planted a second row.

:) i finished planting the snow peas i did two rows that are 6 to 7.5 " apart with every two seeds 1 inch apart, what do you think is this fine?
I watched on Martha's Spring Gardening she plant every inch and said that you want them to grow thick not thinly so thats why i planted mine the way i did. Now i just have to order some Deer mesh for the trellis and i'm all set.
