the mid-Michigan Seed Swap is not happening this year. :( the previous organizers decided they'd had enough and put enough into it and since then there has been no notice of anyone else taking it over.

our local gardening group is going to do a small local seed swap sometime before the season gets too close to planting time but it will not be as large as the other seed swap.

it will be a community table oriented event with seeds donated by us local gardeners, a few companies and the greenhouse people. i am going to be there giving away as many beans as i possibly can. i have decided i will not be repackaging any of the previous beans because of the time involved, but i will have some of the new beans available if they are extra or if someone is a dedicated bean enthusiast i can bring my whole collection and give out some samples if they are interested in something specific.

since this is the first time we have no idea of how many people might attend. time and date to be determined.

rain in the forecast for tonight/tomorrow, but it may not be enough to really challenge the job those roofing people did. we'll see. hope it doesn't leak...

bench seat that i did a while ago. finally got the pic uploaded. note, i only did the tile on the seat, the owner was going to repaint the rest...

i wanted to do a different pattern on the layout but was overruled.

Mom got her step helper yesterday and tried it out and she was ok with it. i was worried she might not be coordinated enough to do it but she was fine. big relief as it does help her quite a bit. :)

This morning, I stumbled twice ..

. on the carpet of a clinic's waiting room. I looked carefully at it the first time to see if there was anything to stumble over –– no. Then, stubbled again.

It was obviously made so that it could be cleaned easily and survive folks showing up with wet shoes. It was just that there was extra resistance to dragging a foot.
