I'm looking for something kind of similar to you! I live in a cooler climate where the temperature drops to the 40's during the winter, especially during the early morning hours. My husband and I have some trellises facing east on our house, so when the temperature is the coolest, the plants get the most sun.
The trellises were there when we bought the house! If it were up to us, we would have put them on the western part of our home. That's where we normally entertain guests. We have our pool, our outdoor furniture, and our grill on that part of the house.
But, since they are on the eastern part of the house, we are stuck in a dilemma. We have tried to grow several types of spinach, peas, and even morning glory flowers. We haven't been successful with any of them.
Do any of you all have any ideas? Are our trellises just decorative, or should we move them to the western part of our house?
