once you get a few older cedar trees established you can have a nearly infinite number of baby cedars for regrowing. over the years here we have probably grown out hundreds of tiny cedar trees and either given them away or even sold some of them, plus we've used some of them to plant out to cover the gaps in the pine trees that are getting taller and more leggy.

the downside to cedars though is that the deer and rabbits will graze them during tougher winters so you get some pretty funny looking cedar trees.
