While things between us have been going well, I think I may end up taking DH to the hospital tonight. I fear he is dehydrated again from being ill all day today. I am hoping I can get some fluids into him once DS comes by to watch Dad while I hurry off to the store, but if what I try doesn't work, the hospital is my only other option.

If I'm not around for a while, I'm at the hospital with DH. Prayers, please. DS just drove into the yard.

DH woke up after DS came so we were able to get him dressed a bit and back to bed for the night. He seemed a little better after sleeping for a few hours so I'm in a wait and see mode for tonight.

When I got home DH got some jello down, then half a glass of water, 8 oz. of Pedialite, and half a banana. Also had him take some Pepto-Bismol tablets for his diarrhea. Just a start but, I think a good start. I warned him that if I wake up tonight I'm pushing another 8 oz of Pedialite and perhaps another jello serving. He smiled and agreed that might be okay.

Tomorrow I promised DS (and myself) that we'd go to the doctor. That's what I have planned whether DH feels better or not. So, barring any big changes, we're home together tonight and I'm getting to bed pretty soon.

It's 1:30 and a restless DH just got up to use the facilities. We managed a small "lunch" of Pedialite, jello, and hot chicken broth. DH seems more like himself, just weak. very uncomfortable, and unable to understand completely why. Hopefully we will be able to sleep again until morning. Then I can start pushing the liquids in earnest.

3:00 and another mini meal -- more cold Pedialite and hot chicken broth. This time it was DH that asked about a drink. He is feeling better and seems a bit stronger. He is still complaining about having weak legs with muscles that hurt. Building up his fluids should go a long way toward fixing those complaints come morning.

I hear him hitting his legs, angry that they won't work the way he wants them to. I'd best get back to bed. He feels better knowing I am close by. At 1:30 the fluids did seem to help as he said his legs didn't hurt as much after the meal. Perhaps they will start working again soon and we can sleep. He needs to sleep.

He needs to sleep.

. . . . Or not. His legs continued to bother him so much that we decided to try sitting up for a while. He's still shaky, but made it down the long hallway to the TV room. Fluids, fluids, fluids! Another hot cup of broth, some yogurt, and a cold drink along with sitting rather than laying down seems to have worked. He's dozing in his recliner.

The other chairs in the TV room are wood. Not exactly geared to dozing -- just watching the Telly or leaving the room. Here I am. . . gone . . . to the computer at 4:00.

One of us needs to sleep!
