Gonna try DILL pickles today - got a peck of un-pickled cukes at roadside stand just now.

NOT going to use the Ball mix (oh no no no - can you tell I'm very anti-that stuff!? heheee) but have a few recipes and will whittle down the selection to one.

I'll post a photo when I'm done!

And again, thanks to this forum for all your support. Being new at canning, and doing it by myself, can be a little overwhelming at times, and you all help so much with your encouragement!

So last night, at family dinner, we opened a jar of the dill pickles that I made a few weeks back! :woot They are wonderful - slightly crunchy and very good - my son and my DH finished a whole pint together before dinner (fortunately they didn't spoil their appetites!)

I used the dill pickle recipe in the book "Small Batch Preserving" - highly recommended.
