I thought this may bring a smile to someone's face this morning.

How adorable! I love a bird with a mohawk hairdo! What kind of bird is it?

Oh no, I didn't take the pic. I've had it in my pictures files for several years. I'm sure I got it on-line. Maybe somebody will come along and tell us what it is. I have scoured my Audubon book and cannot find a match. There are many that look like it without the crest.

Notice that it IS in the kinglet family: Flamecrest (click)

I am not sure if I would have made that connection, So Lucky.

I didn't often see the golden-crowned when I lived out in Thistlebloom's neck of the woods. However, the ruby-crowned was very common at times! Along with the pine siskins and the red crossbills, they seemed like my constant companions.

Thanks Smiles ! And, Hoodat!
