Well, an emo is one of those kids who wears all black and listens to depressing music. I guess the black bird thinks that only homosexuals wear bright colors.
I saw another version of the same picture where the black bird called the colorful bird a "hippy" which I like much better than this one.

I know this is totally off topic, but . . . what does EMO stand for? Is it an acronym? Are there words for the E, M, and the O? Or maybe I should realize that it's not for me to know.

Emo is teen shorthand for emotional. It is a depressed stage where some teens accept the role of victim and are looking for someone to feel sorry for them. Most grow out of it but a few stay that way all their lives.
